THAT SCARY WARNING AT THE OPENING

Even more of an experiment was putting the exciting red “warning” on the front to see who would be deterred, who would be attracted.  Those looking for sex and porn have to be disappointed because even when I talk about those aspects of life, I don’t take an arousing tack.  (By the way, that’s not about something sharp — it’s a term from boating.  Check out wikipedia and YouTube.)

The number of hits went from several hundred (or even several thousand if the subject is a movie star) to single digits and little more.  Suits me.  I don’t care.  At least one friend confided that she was afraid to open the blog.  I suppose it gets you on a list somewhere, but it is hardly criminal and print is unlikely to make you a degenerate.  (Well, it could, if you tried, but pictures are quicker.)


But what makes this prairiemarytoday blog “adult” is that the subjects may be adult subjects like money, violence, physiology at deep levels, and other stuff like that.  So be warned.

THE PAIN OF WRITING

Over the years I’ve read very little about the pain of writing.  I don’t mean developing a flat bottom from sitting so long.  I mean the soul-wrenching work of trying to realize and understand what you know.  It might not be the ordeal of childbirth or torture, which they say one doesn’t remember anyway.  I mean it might be understanding that you contributed to a death or that you deliberately wiped out years of your life because of not understanding.  Or that you have a great gift that cannot be expressed simply because of living in the wrong time and place — Beethoven without a piano. When a person goes to confession, the work of the priest is not telling you how many Hail Marys one must say in order to “pay” for a sin.  Rather he is supposed to be showing you the Deity-headed system that will explain what you have done, what remorse can earn, how gracious ideas can be.  It takes a person of some experience and capacity to be effective, but the furniture of a confession cabinet

PRINCIPLES FOR AT (After Trump)

This is a slap-pack.   Write each on a card.   Slap them on the table and think about them singly or bunched, whether you are alone or with others.    Feel free to add more.   They are for discussion more than for implementation.   I will add more as I think of them. 1.  Every regulation or administrative decision MUST be in line with the Constitution.  This will be enforced.  Ignoring enforcement is defined formally as violation. 2.  No millionaire et al may run for government office.  Some form of regulation is needed for persons and corporations that exceed some high limit. 3.  "Corporations" -- the idea that an institution or business is like a person -- are a fantasy idea and are declared null and void. 4.  As basic requirements for civilization, the separation of families is banned.  But a careful definition of "family" is necessary. 5.  Label all diversions and set them aside.  Use the propaganda education we used to teach decades ago.
